OFN seeks a talented Senior Associate of Membership Services to be responsible for coordinating the strengthening of OFN members through peer training, investments in the capacity of staff, and strengthening the recruiting and development of careers in the field of Community Development Finance. This position involves coordinating cross-departmental teams within OFN, liaising with external stakeholders such as funders and members, and leading processes that may include these and other constituencies. This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate the development services for OFN members including providing information, expertise, models, training, technical assistance (TA), investments in human capacity of staff, and other resources in conjunction with team members.
  • Support the Network Services team with the implementation of special initiatives supporting OFN membership and CDFI industry.
  • Gather and analyze background data, develop draft program designs, and gather input from a range of stakeholders including CDFIs, funders, and investors through in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Coordinate implementation of programs including application and selection process; development and delivery of program services including training, peer learning, and financing; analysis of program results; communication of program results to internal and external audiences; external Advisory Committee activities; and identification of potential reforms to related public sector programs.
  • Assist with conference session planning and content review.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-7 years of direct professional work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in project management, communications, or organizational development, or community development.
  • Experience in community development finance, including direct lending experience, is preferred; experience in lending to financial and/or non-profit institutions is a plus.
  • Experience working in a CDFI or with CDFIs is valuable.
  • Experience in presentation and adult education skills such as public speaking, panel moderation, meeting facilitation, event design, curriculum development, training delivery, and technical assistance provision highly desired.
  • Experience with loan management systems and CRMs is a plus.
  • Exposure working with one or more priority markets (rural, Native, minority, persistently poor) is a plus.
  • Understanding of the CDFI business model and community development finance.
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently under minimal supervision as well as ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under pressure without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to identify and complete technical and complex tasks and/or assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with emphasis on clarity, conciseness, and relevance and the ability to appropriately adjust for different audiences.
  • Digital literacy and ability to navigate workplace technology.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams across OFN.
  • Comfort working in a small-office environment and/or experience working in a nonprofit environment preferred.
  • Moderate travel required (15% of time)
  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
