We are seeking to hire a Senior Marine Mechanical Engineer (Auxiliary Systems) to join our team in Washington, DC. Upon award, you will:

  • Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard auxiliary systems and piping, review and develop technical data packages, provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements, conduct and oversee trade studies.
  • Lead engineers in development efforts, coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design.
  • Provide oversight for junior staff in the design, development, evaluation and operation of marine vessels, shipboard auxiliary systems and piping.
  • Review and develop technical data packages, provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements, conduct and oversee trade studies.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited institution.
  • 10+ years marine engineering experience.
  • 6 years’ experience with design, optimization, and integration of marine auxiliary and piping systems, ship machinery integration, cargo handling systems, and weight handling systems calculations and analyses.
  • Knowledge of ABS, USN, and commercial ship design rules and regulations relating to auxiliary systems.
  • Technical supervision.
  • > 1 year federal ship or boat building.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Experience and Certifications:

  • MS Technical, Engineering or Marine from an ABET Accredited Institution.
  • Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.
  • PE license, PMP, DHS PM Level I, II or III, or DHS systems engineering.

This position is contingent upon and subject to the award of the contract from the government. You will be hired on a contingency basis.
