Salary $48,732 to $60,427  
Position Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Recreation or Sports management preferred; supplemented by three (3) years of previous experience and/or training that includes recreational, youth and adult athletic programming; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Additional Requirements:

Requires First Aid and CPR certification

Requires Certified Youth Sports Administrator

Description

Position Summary: This classification evaluates and advises individuals to assist recovery from or avoid athletic related injuries or illnesses or maintain peak physical fitness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The functions listed below are those that represent most of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Oversee daily athletic operations in relation to parks and departmental programming; develop goals and objectives, schedules and direct athletics events facilitated by the department.
  • Provide oversight to athletic contracts; whereas, communication between youth association and the department are necessary.
  • Review incident/accident reports for all parks and athletic programming.
  • Assist department heads in developing and management of athletic policies and procedures that govern all athletic programming.
  • Organize and manage all athletic background checks to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in registration and facilitate athletic operations.
  • Complete and communicate work orders pertaining to parks and athletic operations.

Additional Functions

  • Inspect parks and athletic areas for safety maintenance needs
  • Performs other related duties as required
