Construction Project Manager 

Description

Started in 1991 as a family owned residential builder in the greater Tacoma, Washington area, Vaughn Bay Construction has grown into a leading provider of both light commercial and affordable multi-family construction.

Vaughn Bay Construction is seeking a Project Manager for multi-family, new construction. This position will be based out of Tampa, FL but will require travel statewide.

Primary Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.

Writing of Scopes, Work Plan review and Coordinating onsite meetings.

Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.

Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.

Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.

Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies

Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.

Supervise the work of Superintendents and give them guidance when needed.

Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.

Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.

 Experience and Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent. BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is a plus.

Minimum three (3) to five (5) years' experience in construction management.

Multi-family low rise/mid-rise experience.

Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.

Competent in forecasting and conflict resolution.

Familiarity with construction management and scheduling software ProCore and Smart Sheets a plus.

PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.

Ability to read plans and blueprints.

Ability to track change orders and contingency draw downs.

Proficient knowledge of MS Office WORD, EXCEL, and ProCore

Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Familiarity with construction management and scheduling software
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in forecasting and conflict resolution
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is a plus
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years' experience in construction management
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory role
  • Multi-family low rise/mid rise
