Title: Clinical Trial Operations Intern

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Duration: 12 weeks

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or a related major for an internship during the summer of 2022. This internship opportunity is with the BPD department.

The objective of this internship is to contribute to AZ Logistics and Clinical Supply (LCS) team through delivery or specified operational activities aligned to clinical trial supply.

Core Responsibilities:

Clinical Trials Study Startup Management: Develop a plan for clinical trial setup in Inventory and Label Management Systems (Smart Supplies Planning, Material & Distribution- PMD and Label Routing & Approval- LRA) and externally managed Randomization and Trial Supply Management (RTSM) system to capture critical trial configurations and early failure detection areas prior to study go-live.

Special Project: Simplify Clinical Label Generation Process by re-defining label phrase classifications and country requirements in SmartSupplies LRA system in accordance with EU GMP Annex 13 and approved country label requirements provided by AZ label regulatory vendor. 

 
Position Requirements

 

Position Requirements:

  • This position requires a well-organized individual who demonstrates personal flexibility, and an ability to work accurately within broad guidance to achieve deliverables.
  • The Clinical Supplies Administrator must possess good attention to detail whilst also demonstrating skills for organizing, planning, coordination, teamwork, and communication (oral, written and interpersonal).
  • The preferred candidate will be computer literate (Windows Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and able to pick up new systems with ease.
  • Current undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, Senior
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0+
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, be able to work onsite in Gaithersburg, MD for the summer, at least 18 years of age, and enrolled in a full-time academic program pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
