Title: Computer Science Summer Intern

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Duration: 12 weeks

The internship program provides the best undergraduate students a unique opportunity to gain meaningful computer science experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  In addition to their computer science experience, the program participants are involved in cross-functional training sessions and networking activities. Upon completion, participants leave the program with invaluable knowledge that provides them with a head start on their career. 

Goal: 

To assist developing automation software.

Duties:

To provide student the learning opportunity to obtain real life biopharma experience of how to:

  • Support complex pipeline development projects
  • Push boundaries of new technologies directly applied to pipeline
  • Advance automation interface between biologists and robots
  • Build the fundamental dataset and support drug discovery

Position Requirements
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong Python proficiency 
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • A minimum of 3 years of undergraduate work toward a B.S. in Computer Science or related field completed
  • Excitement and initiative to gain industry experience and learn new skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment to meet project milestones in a timely fashion
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, be able to work onsite in Gaithersburg, MD for the summer, at least 18 years of age, and enrolled in a full-time academic program pursuing a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
