For more information please visit www.astrazeneca.com .   Description Title: Computer Science Summer Intern Location: Gaithersburg, MD Duration: 12 weeks The internship program provides the best undergraduate students a unique opportunity to gain meaningful computer science experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  In addition to their computer science experience, the program participants are involved in cross-functional training sessions and networking activities. Upon completion, participants leave the program with invaluable knowledge that provides them with a head start on their career.  Goal:  To assist developing automation software. Duties: To provide student the learning opportunity to obtain real life biopharma experience of how to: Support complex pipeline development projects Push boundaries of new technologies directly applied to pipeline Advance automation interface between biologists and robots Build the fundamental dataset and support drug discovery   Competitive wages   Position Requirements Advanced computer skills Strong Python proficiency  Proficiency in MS Office A minimum of 3 years of undergraduate work toward a B.S. in Computer Science or related field completed Excitement and initiative to gain industry experience and learn new skills Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment to meet project milestones in a timely fashion Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
