Description

General Purpose

This position will report to the Controller and is responsible for completing projects at the direction of the Controller and the Accounting Manager. This role requires an excellent working knowledge of MS Excel; such as Pivot Table, V-Lookup, Macro, etc. As a candidate, you should also entail strong analytical, computer, and communication skills. This position must have knowledge of all Accounting functions which includes but is not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, journal entries, GL reconciliations, and work papers. You will as well support the financial reporting process by creating and maintaining data analysis reports to help Controller and President in making management decisions. Prepares state and local tax reporting, prepares and files business licenses, contractors licenses, bonds, and insurance. This candidate must possess outstanding analytical skills and written skills to evaluate costs as well as actual vs budget to complete variance explanations. Ability to work overtime during monthly closing and as needed to accomplish special projects and deadlines.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create Excel reports as requested with strong data analytical ability
  • Financial Statement Involvement
  • Asset Reconciliations
  • Benefit Reconciliation
  • Record and track all fixed asset purchases and disposals
  • Comply with all Fixed Asset processes established by Fleet and Accounting
  • Reconcile prepaid fixed asset general ledger account
  • Daily cash reconciliation
  • Assist with Inventory / Material Audits as required
  • Workers Comp Audit Spreadsheets
  • Fulfill Reporting Requests from GM’s/Executive Team/Superintendents
  • Request and analyze Reports including Crystal Reports
  • 1099’s – support AP
  • Reporting Improvements- work with Crystal Report Liason
  • Assist Controller & Assistant Controller with New Initiatives
  • Vacation Position Coverage when Needed
  • Setting up new departments in ERP System
  • Upload Budgets
  • Assist with Property Tax Submissions
  • Company Compliance Initiatives and Ownership

 

Job Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Experienced with Vista/Viewpoint/Keystyle is strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years Accounting/Finance and Bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of reconciling general ledgers accounts
  • Financial statement preparation and reconciliations
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy under time constraints
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning company financial data and payroll-related info
  • Strong interpersonal skills and solid team working abilities
  • Sound work ethics and flexibility
  • Strong decision making and analytical thinking ability
  • Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with enterprise accounting software
  • Strong Excel skills: such as Pivot Table, V-Lookup, Macro, etc.

 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
