ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Essential duties and responsibilities of Authorized Inspectors include the following:

If a situation arises in which he is unable to make an acceptable decision or judgment, or if his decision is challenged by another individual, the matter shall be referred to the Director of Quality Control in accordance with FAR 121.369. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Inspect all shop areas as directed.
  • Accomplish inspection of units to ascertain that the in-house testing of components was completed in accordance with the procedures outlined in the maintenance manuals and that any unit released for flight is airworthy.
  • Accomplish overhaul/conversion inspections on aircraft according to OAI maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with supervisor as to periodic check inspection progress and advising him of inspection status.
  • Perform inspection tasks assigned by the Director of Maintenance or the Director of Quality Control.
  • Inspector incoming components or materials when necessary, or in the absence of a qualified receiving inspector.
  • Fill out 337’s as required.
  • Complete SDR’s and forward to Manager of Reliability.
  • Fill out OAI Form CIS-2 for any Level 2 or Level 3 corrosion and forward to the Manager of Reliability.
  • Complete MM-025 or MM-088 checklist at the completion of any vendor A or C check.
  • Accomplish random checks of the quality of work while OAI aircraft are at an OMP, refer to GMM 14.19.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the Director of Quality Control or higher management.
  • Attend all OAI training classes as assigned by the Director of Quality Control.
  • Separate CPCP, SSI, and SID routine and non-routine information from major check packages and individually forecasted cards and distribute as applicable (to QC, Inspection, Maintenance, etc.).
  • Initiate, execute and sign forms, tags and other paperwork in accordance with OAI maintenance manuals; review all paperwork for completeness and signatures; release aircraft for service by signing airworthiness release in accordance with OAI General Maintenance Manual.
  • Perform internal audits of Omni Air International’s Maintenance Departments, including Line Stations, in accordance with the OAI CAS System.
  • Perform audits of Omni Air International paperwork (i.e. Logbooks, Cabin Logs, DMI Items and Non-Routines) in accordance with the OAI CAS System.
  • Perform audits of external repair overhaul vendors in accordance with the OAI CAS System.
  • Audit completed paperwork during A and C checks.

 

 

AUTHORITIES:

  • The QC Auditor/Inspector is authorized to exercise individual initiative and judgment and will make decisions where necessary with regard to airworthiness of aircraft and determine that all aircraft, maintenance work, materials and practices conform to standard established by OAI and that any aircraft, engine or appliance released for flight or approved for return to service is airworthy.

 

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid A&P Certificate
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Lift – Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs

 

 

MENTAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
  • Work with limited supervision and possess an impeccable attention to detail, excellent customer service and organizational skills required
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully with significant detail
  • Ability to make decisions which impact the department’s credibility, and services
