Description

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Ability to perform direct transporting of In-patients/Out-patients and Emergency Department patients.
  • Assist technologist with Mobile radiography at the nursing homes and/or Jail etc.
  • can relate to patients of all ages, i.e., neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric as required by departmental patient population.
  • Will evaluate students as assigned.
  • Agrees to complete the clinical education series as deemed appropriate.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe working environment throughout the facility.
  • Perform other duties as requested, including student supervision and evaluation if appropriate.
  • Perform Phlebotomy Clerical duties include file/retrieve patient jackets and answer phones.
  • If needed, possess the ability to transport specimens with the proper paperwork to the Laboratory. Performs limited phlebotomy draws for I-stat specimens.
  • Performs intravenous catheters placement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for providing basic care needs to patients during transportation.
  • Assumes responsibility for effective communication.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintenance of supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with the stress of customer relations in a positive/assuring manner.

  • Excellent human relation skills and adheres to the Radiology Department's "General Policies for Patient Rights Policy" (RI 100).

  • Ability to work Irregular hours, flexible work schedule.
  • Associate must demonstrate the abililty to deal with the stress of customer relations in a positive/assuring manner.

  • Must have the ability to project compassion and excellence to patients and staff.
  • Must be able to communicate technical information clearly; by direct conversation, in writing, and by phone.
  • Must maintain qualities agreed to in Patients First Commitment (Attitude/Demeanor, Respect, Teamwork, Accountability/Initiative, Communication and Dedication to Excellence).
 
Position Requirements

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must be capable of positive interaction with all patients, visitors, co- workers, and physicians.
  • Nursing Assistant experience helpful.
  • Must hold a current valid Indiana State driver’s license.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Annual Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Confidentiality-HIPAA, Infection Control, Corporate Compliance. Annual Unit Specific Competencies, and all education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
