POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: Heath, OHIO

SUPERVISOR: Project Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time Regular, Non-Exempt

HOURS: 8:00am-5:00pm; Monday-Friday

(Weekends, Evenings, Holidays, Overtime as Required)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Assembly Technician will assemble electrical and mechanical components/subassemblies/assemblies, wiring harnesses and cable assemblies following production drawings and sample assemblies using light hand tools, soldering equipment and measurement equipment such as calibers, gauges and digital multi-meter.

 
Position Requirements

BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:

  1. High School Diploma or related equivalent experience
  2. Experience in assembly of electrical and mechanical hardware and cables/harnesses is a plus.
  3. Experience in reading and following procedures and work instructions is a plus
  4. Able to communicate clearly in verbal and written format.
  5. Fluency in the English language is required
  6. Must possess the characteristic traits of honesty, integrity and confidentiality necessary to be entrusted with highly sensitive business data.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to quality of work within engineering environments
  8. Excellent organizational skills
  9. Compliance with all safety policies and regulations
  10. Basic knowledge of Microsoft products
  11. Able to analyze problems and determine root causes
  12. Strong self-direction and drive
  13. Capability to develop a high level of expertise/aptitude in mechanical and electrical areas

ESSENTIAL/TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Work with technicians and engineers and review manufacturability of systems in design.
  2. Outfit and maintain the production lab to specified quality configuration (including Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control, Foreign Object Debris (FOD), etc.).
  3. Daily reporting and tracking of activities
  4. Plan, Do, Check, Action follow up items
  5. Immediate response to production floor needs and requirements
  6. Compliance with all safety policies and regulations
  7. Provides electrical and mechanical hands-on assembly during hardware build-up, or as otherwise required.
  8. Participates, as required, on the inspections and installation of parts and components on prototypes, as well as final production systems.
  9. Prepares prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current product, as directed.
