This position will provide aerial installation of fiber optic cable for various telecommunication projects. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to climb wooded utility poles and perform line work off hooks Proficient in Bucket Truck Operation Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions Proven ability to analyze job locations for utility lines, permitting, and traffic control in order to complete construction activities without quality defects, safety incidents or any type of property damage Proficient in completing daily inspections and reporting of maintenance issues on vehicles, trailers, and equipment Must maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers Provides mid-level aerial installation functions that could include hand digging with a shovel, setting up traffic control, entry level equipment operations, placing fiber, climbing poles, loading materials, etc. on various safety sensitive utility construction sites Proficient with utility print and map reading Climbs utility poles and/or utilizes lift to place cable in adherence to print designs and maps Supports the setup and shut down of utility construction projects including traffic control in various conditions including highways, side streets, parking lots, downtown locations, etc. Trains alongside experience construction crews learning fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, etc. Loads and unloads materials and equipment in from vehicles at construction yards and jobsites Acts as right hand to the Foreman, leads by example, ensures safety rules/regulations are followed, and can lead other’s on jobsites Experienced in the following tasks: New Cable Installs Pole Transfers Strand Building Cable Hanging Lashing Over Wreck Out   Position Requirements EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 0-1+ year of lineman experience within the telecommunications industry required ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment Candidates must pass Criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job, background check and a pre- employment drug screen.   Open Date 6/10/2022   Close Date   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
