Join the Business/Specialty Banking team as a Business Lending Specialist! This individual supports lenders in providing an Incredible Customer Experience (ICE) for business, real estate, and consumer loan applications and ensures timely, accurate and compliant processing of assigned loans. All work will comply with Bank policies, procedures, and applicable regulations such as Reg B (Adverse Action, Appraisal Delivery) HMDA, CRA and Flood.
This is a full-time hourly non-exempt position working 40 hours/week and will be eligible for benefits and PTO.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Obtain supporting information before preparing loan documentation for loan closing, including but not limited to UCC search, CRIS search, OFAC check, etc.
• Order and obtain required documentation from third party vendors such as appraisals, title policies, flood determination, etc.
• Secure collateral by filing applicable security interests and ensuring perfection.
• Follow-up and monitor loan collateral and documentation; including perfections of liens and proper insurance coverage.
• Work with lender in managing pipeline of deals from application thru closing.
• Coordinate with the Credit Department to ensure timely and efficient underwriting of new loan requests, loan renewals, modifications etc.
• Prepare all loan documentation and provide processing support for new and renewed loan requests for business customers with exposure of less than $500,000 and all consumer loans.
• Identify loans for CRA and HMDA tracking.
• Image assigned loan files in the Bank’s cold storage system.
• Complete the entry of closed loan data into core banking system for consumer loans.
• Complete adverse actions for denied and withdrawn loan applications.
• Function as the business customer’s secondary and/or primary contact related to their relationship with the Bank.
• Assist with customer requests including but not limited to payments, transfers, wires, stop payments, history inquiries.
• Offer best practices and solutions for process enhancements.
• Document issues, maintain supporting work papers and provide accurate reporting metrics.
• Act as primary back up to Business Lending Specialist I.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience
• An individual should have 2-4 years of experience with business loans, and legal documentation and the business lending process.
Software Skills
• Knowledge of core processing systems, Microsoft Office, Windows, Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Database software and loan origination software.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Must possess advanced knowledge of business lending principles, practices and procedures, have a solid understanding of business lending concepts, compliance rules and regulations, and have exceptional communication skills.
