Description

We are looking for an accomplished and driven Chemistry Coordinator (Quality Control) to join our growing team! The Chemist Coordinator (Quality Control) is accountable for ensuring that the analytical measurements are accurate and that methods maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines, cGMP, and internal SOP’s and methods. Expected to plan, organize, and schedule laboratory activities concerning sample results and reporting in accordance with the organizations quality objectives and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform a wide variety of research laboratory tasks and experiments, make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results obtained from any instrumentation or methodology within the organization.
  • Perform quality control and ensure compliance to customer specifications, standards, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain compliance with 21CFR, ICH, ISO and FDA regulatory procedures and changes. • Adhere to standards, involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, maintain laboratory equipment, and understand the analyses/methods performed on them.
  • Monitor and improve tracking and document control systems as they apply to OOS, OOT and Investigations of sample results.
  • Manage retention and filing of data including standard, solution, and sample preparation documents, laboratory investigation, out of specification records and documentation.
  • Participate in monitoring activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality control for internal processes including training, investigations and CAPAs.
  • Review and maintain advanced knowledge of quality control standards and how they apply to existing policies and procedures and evaluate effectiveness of quality control process as they relate to methods, testing and reporting data.
  • Manage, the review and revision of procedures, specifications, and forms.
  • Manage investigation and out of specification results and resolve open cases in a timely manner and maintain the associated logs.
  • Manage all activities related to providing required documentation and implementing related documentation systems.
  • Work primarily in an office environment with occasional laboratory work utilizing the appropriate PPE for hazardous solvents and follow established laboratory safety practices.
  • Participation in internal and external audits.
  • Work positively with all personnel in the organization.
  • Job duties may be revised at will of the organization
 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree is required; concentration in Biological or Chemical Science is Required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or related field is required, and two (2) years of regulatory, quality control, or quality assurance experience or equivalent is preferred.
  • A general working knowledge of 21CFR, USP/NF, ICH, cGMP, cGLP and/or ISO standards and guidelines.
  • The ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing, with scientific and non-scientific personnel is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and solve complex problems.
  • Must be proficient in using Windows programs, Access, Chromeleon, Qtegra, Omnic, ValPro, Data Logger Software, Sievers DataPro2, and Insight with the ability to access, input, and retrieve information using a computer.
  • Lift and move heavy items in the laboratory (glassware, solvent bottles, equipment, etc.).
  • Able to work under pressure and successfully function in a fast-paced environment.
