Job Summary

The Database Reporting Analyst is in charge of data gathering, data analyzing, and producing reports. They are also responsible for coordinating with other departments and communicating their findings to leadership. Tasks include the day-to-day management and administration of the organization’s databases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs database management, administration, design, development, and deployment.

  • Manages the data from internal and external sources.

  • Analyzes, validates, distributes, and maintains databases.

  • Creates, enhances, and maintains datasets from multiple sources, data dashboards, and advanced data visualizations. Keeps data sets error-free, analyzes data, and interprets results.

  • Receives data and report requests, evaluates requirements, and builds queries and reports.

  • Assists with the maintenance, functionality, and health of the Microsoft SQL Servers.

  • Monitors the nightly jobs run in SQL Server Agent, including nightly backups of the individual databases and batch processing jobs.

  • Develops and maintains the security of individual databases and user accounts.

  • Develops views, stored procedures, nightly jobs, and user-defined functions as needed.

  • Develops, enhances, migrates, and maintains all MS-Access databases, both standalone and those connected to SQL Servers.

  • Assists users with routine functionality issues, provides data extraction (e.g., mailing lists), and performs ad hoc queries for data manipulation.

  • Manages the flow of incoming requests and tickets assigned to database team.

  • Ensures operations plans, policies, and procedures are consistent with organization goals and objectives.

  • Champions change and effectively manages implementation of new ideas.

  • Communicates technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences effectively.

  • Supports and solicits input from team members at all corporate levels.

  • Assists team in troubleshooting in all technical areas.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics, management information systems, data analytics, or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree

  • Four years of database design, development, and administration experience

  • Two years of experience in implementation of new databases as well as modifying existing databases

  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

  • Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to communicate with various stakeholders

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including ability to listen and observe

  • Must be self-directed and able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet goals and objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management

  • Previous experience working with not-for-profit organizations
