QC Inspector 

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Able to articulate blueprints, engineering specification, and build documentation to verify material, parts, and assemblies meet the stated requirements.
  • Able to verify build documentation for correctness/completeness.
  • Perform 1st Piece, sampling, incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Knowledge of inspection equipment usage such as calipers, micrometers, optical measuring equipment, microscopes, rulers, gauges, scales, and test equipment to name a few.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers and software program such as Microsoft Suite, MRP systems, digital engineering documentation, and email/calendar usage.
  • Soldering and circuit board knowledge/certification in one or all the following: IPC 600, 610, 620, and/or J-STD-001.
  • May participate in-process/AS-9100 audits.
  • Verify customer packaging requirements are being met.
  • Familiar with Quality Systems and ensure system compliance.
  • Provide training and support to the production, engineering, and quality groups.
  • Attend weekly CST board meetings.
  • Drive the culture of Extant’s QMS requirements.
  • Prepare documentation packages required to ship with products.
  • Review customer Purchase Orders/Contracts to determine that the quality requirements have been met.
  • Coordinate customer/government source inspection needs and requirements.
  • Perform source inspection(s) on the products that Extant Aerospace has been given delegation.
  • Prepare documentation for record retention requirements.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalence required 
  • Five years direct industry experience in Quality preferred; or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Ability to achieve IPC-A-610 certification required; current or previous IPC-A-610 certifications a plus
  • Abillity to read & interpret customer supplied drawings as well as internal documentation packages required
  • Experience with MRP systems, MS Office Products and Epicor a plus.
  • Knowledge of FAA Regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work well on a team and develop trust among coworkers.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 requirements preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime to support business needs required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

Must have excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and will at times be required to work with some chemical and bonding agents. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
