Reporting to the Senior Manager of Facilities, the Electrician will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, testing, service, and repair of items such as conduits, meters, panels, control boards, sensors, motors, lights, fire alarms, switchboards, and wall, floor, and ceiling receptacles.

You Will:

  • Install interior and exterior wiring for equipment and appliances and cuts, drills, and channeling concrete floors and walls for conduits and related installations or repairs.
  • Bend and thread conduits and installing wires and cables in conduits.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect for malfunctions, repair complicated electrical and electro-mechanical devices, and other circuits.
  • Install, inspect, replace, or repair major control devices, power circuits, panel boards, circuit breakers, contacts, coils, relays, linkages, fuses, and wiring.
  • Install conduits, switches, receptacles, contactors, and design modifications to existing control circuits where necessary.
  • Clean up job site and return equipment and materials.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of power and hand tools; observe good safety practices on the job site.
  • Assist the Plumber, Carpenter, Engineer, and HVAC Technician to trouble shoot and service other related building systems and equipment.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
  • A California driver license with less than three DMV points.
  • Electrician’s license preferred.
  • 4+ years of electrical experience and successful completion of a recognized electrician apprentice program.
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience is a plus.
  • BMS (Building Management System) experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and CEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
  • Ability to use a computerized work order tracking system and track materials used.
  • Familiarity with LA City electrical codes.
  • Ability to service, maintain. and troubleshoot electrical equipment (e.g., variable frequency drives, motor control starters, electrical motors, automated lighting controls, relays, lighting dimmers, automatic transfer switches, emergency generators, portable generators, and uninterruptible power systems).
  • Ability to operate meggers and sophisticated electrical monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and test circuit breakers up to 480 volts.
  • Ability to safely install electrical conduits and equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop/squat for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in fluctuating temperatures.
  • Ability to work under adverse situations and conditions (e.g., dirty, noisy, etc.).
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and heights.
