Share Email Opening Title FOIA Analyst II  Category Management/Other Analyst   Description This effort will assist in creating a network of likeminded allies and partners with increased threat reduction capabilities that contribute and advance the interests and security of the United States of America. It will assist in building strategic relationships with key international partners that enhance threat reduction on a global scale. It will also support the resilience of the global nonproliferation framework by building partner capacities to enforce the tenants of that framework. The FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) Analyst II will review, analyze, and provide advice pertaining to FOIA inquiries. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Clearly communicate findings/recommendations on FOIA issues to DTRA/BTRP leadership, both verbally and in writing. Plan, organize, and process information requests. Gather and package official documents in response to FOIA requests. Interpret requests for information, determine scope, and identify DTRA/BTRP sections likely to maintain responsive records. Independently apply substantive knowledge of the statutory and regulatory requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act of 1974, Executive Orders by accurately applying statutory exemptions and exclusions in cases involving controversial and sensitive issues. Review documents and redact information which requires protection through redaction utilizing Adobe. Assures accurate and timely implementation by assigned staff, providing training and guidance where necessary. Assist with proposal development, if necessary. Perform other duties, as assigned.   Position Requirements Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years’ previous experience as a FOIA Analyst. Experience adjudicating FOIA exemptions. Familiarity with Adobe redaction tool. Proficiency in FOIA processing of technical/scientific records desired. Prior experience working with scientific organizations (preferably biological) and/or the Department of Defense (DoD) is desired. Education: Bachelor’s degree desired. Other Required Skills & Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
