Position Overview

Provide administrative support to SELCO Investment and Retirement Services and SIRS Investment Advisors. Develop and support client financial relationships with SELCO members utilizing non-deposit investment products including, but not limited to, securities and insurance.

Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support including, answering calls, greeting and directing customers, distributing mail, ordering office supplies, and scheduling appointments.
  • Facilitate and coordinate communications with clients, investment companies, and co-workers.
  • Service client accounts including updating client information, assisting with withdrawal requests and other client forms, processing trade documents, responding to client inquires, re-registering investment accounts.
  • Prepare client investments reviews.
  • Review all trade confirmations for accuracy and completion. 
  • Assist in the organization of SELCO Investment and Retirement Services’ seminars and other marketing related activities including, overseeing seminar registration, ordering seminar supplies and materials, setting up event space, greeting attendees, and maintaining referral program.
  • Greet and interact with internal and external members and customers in a warm and friendly manner, demonstrate a sincere interest and willingness to help.
  • Assist with department-related projects and special assignments, as requested.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and uphold SELCO’s mission statement, corporate values, service promises, and exceptional customer service standards.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations, Credit Union policies, confidentiality requirements, and other compliance obligations.
  • Consistently achieve individual performance goals and contribute to branch and organizational objectives.
  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings and trainings.
  • Adapt to change to accomplish SELCO’s goals and objectives.
  • Research, resolve and/or report issues and potential problems to management and/or other business units.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related field or equivalent experience; and
  • At least two (2) years of financial services experience; and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license; and
  • Possess a valid Oregon Insurance Licenses, Life and Health, Variable Products; and
  • Possess FINRA Registered Series 7,63 and 65 or Series 7 and 66; and
  • Must be bondable.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the job duties, approximately 85% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and transport up to 5 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment and supplies.

Interaction and Work Environment

  • Reports To:  SELCO Investment and Retirement Services Operations Manager/Investment Consultant
  • Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise, distractions, and frequent interruptions. Position requires travel to various SELCO locations.
