Job Summary

Responsible to install security and camera systems, voice, data, sound and audio/visual devices, and distributed antenna/RF infrastructure and related systems equipment. This position follows electrical designs, layouts and building plans to ensure safe and accurate electrical components, equipment and systems are installed, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations, and in compliance with all appropriate specifications, codes and applicable union bargaining agreements.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs systems installation from inception to completion to meet customer needs and ensure compliance with current industry practices and Company guidelines, building codes, safety and legal requirements.
  2. Installs pathway and support systems for cabling infrastructure.
  3. Pulls and installs cable infrastructure and riser systems.
  4. Mounts and fastens control panels, door and window contacts, sensors or video cameras and attaches electrical and telephone wiring to accurately connect the components as required.
  5. Installs electrical components, equipment and/or systems using hand tools, power tools or other installation equipment.
  6. Assists in testing circuits and sensors in accordance with wiring and systems specifications, current industry and Company standards.
  7. Collaborates with other installers and project team members during installation of integrated systems.
  8. Consults with field leadership to understand and mitigate jobsite risks. Follows all safety standards and requirements and encourages others to do the same.
  9. Creates and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, project managers, office and field staff and others that reflect and support the Companys core values and meet or exceed the customers expectations.
  10. Practices LEAN concepts and methodologies, and influences co-workers to do the same.
  11. Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  12. Develops professional and technical knowledge by complying with requirements of the apprenticeship program, attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
  13. Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  14. Supports the mission, vision and values of the Company and works creatively to best support the Companys long-term goals. Champions and models the Company culture at all times.
  15. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
  16. Follows all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Entry level to 2 years of industry experience with the installation and trim out of systems related to voice and data infrastructure, camera systems, card access systems, and broadcast, sound and audio/visual systems, or distributed antenna/RF systems.
  3. Willing to participate in a three (3) year apprenticeship program.
  4. Ability to pass an industry-required aptitude test and pre-apprenticeship drug screen.
  5. Knowledge and experience with construction and general industry safety standards and procedures.
  6. Demonstrated enthusiasm for expanding knowledge and skills to meet the needs of a dynamic technology office while directly contributing to the success of others.
  7. Demonstrated strong collaboration, teamwork and customer focus skills.
  8. Strong detail orientation, professionalism and dependability.
  9. Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  10. Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
  11. Ability to independently and effectively perform job duties, manage workflow and meet deadlines, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities.
  12. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office software applications.
  13. Hold a valid drivers license and has reliable transportation.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in audio visual, electrical engineering or a related field.
  2. JATC apprenticeship program experience.
