Job Description:
Paychex is looking for a proven Systems Engineer to bring their experience and desire for a well-grounded IT culture, to help develop and grow our Infrastructure Application solutions. As a Systems Engineer, you will be integrated into DevOps teams (Delivery Teams) with Software Developers and Testers, Build and Release Engineers, Solution Leads, Scrum Masters (and many more!) to partner and deliver new products, features/functionality, and remediating defects for Paychex's Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.
As part of Infrastructure Applications team, you will be responsible for the delivery and support of critical infrastructure services as well as applications that play a foundational role in the operations of Paychex’s information technology systems. The group provides key infrastructure services like application delivery and presentation, authentication and Single Sign On (SSO), Domain Name Services (DNS), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), server/service/application policy management, Remote desktop/application presentation technologies. This position will expose the candidate to all server based operating systems (Linux, Windows) at Paychex and will require the development of skills to support, administer, and engineer cross-platform OS solutions. Candidate will leverage the latest technologies from Cisco, Dell/EMC, Docker, Google, Microsoft, Red Hat, VMware, and many Open-Source projects in our IT environment that are critical to delivering Paychex's IT Infrastructure services.
What You’ll Do:
• Supports cross-functional project teams with sprint planning, execution, support, and maintenance activities. This includes system analysis and design, defect identification and remediation, system build and configuration tasks, incident response, and similar activities to help deliver solutions as required.
• Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware, operating systems, and applications (Corporate and Third-Party) in physical, virtual, and containerized compute environments to corporate and vendor standards in support of business requirements.
• Performs moderately complex application and storage system upgrades (hardware/software) as well as periodic health checks in accordance with established corporate policies and procedures.
• Use Continuous Delivery concepts such as Version Control, Continuous Integration, Testing (smoke, sanity, regression), Automation, and Orchestration to deliver and support IT systems at Paychex.
• Leverage technologies like Git, Artifactory, ServerSpec, Puppet, Ansible, Scripting (Bash, PowerShell), and non-scripting (Ruby, Python) languages to extend features/functionality within our current toolsets and further our self-service, automation, and orchestration capabilities and services.
• Proactively identifies work requests that can be downshifted to Operations team or automated via software automation and orchestration tools. Ensures that all working knowledge sets are properly documented and communicated.
• Creates and maintains technical reference documentation to be used in support and training of Information Technology (IT) personnel.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in Systems administration or Infrastructure administration
• Experience with 1 or more of the following technologies: Directory services like Active Directory and OpenLDAP, Authentication and Authorization platforms like Auth0 and Azure AD, DNS, DHCP
• Experience with 1 or more of the following: Ansible, XLR, Atlassian Suite (Confluence, Jira, BitBucket), CyberArk, Hashicorp Vault, Microsoft PKI, Citrix Application Delivery
• Experience in Scrum and Agile Frameworks
• Understanding of how API technologies are consumed
• Experience with scripting is a plus (Python, Ansible)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer related discipline and/or an IT certification in an applicable field or equivalent work experience
• Any relevant Certifications is a plus
