Location: Gaithersburg, MD

We are currently seeking someone on their way to obtaining a PHD in Biomedical Engineering, Statistics, Pharmacometrics, or related fields for an internship assignment during the summer of 2022.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform computational modeling and data analysis to understand why the kidney function of chronic kidney diease (CKD) patients declines at different rates, and which patients may respond best to certain therapies.
  • Work with internal AstraZeneca data, data in literature, and established computational modeling frameworks to better understand combinations of characteristics that are different between “fast” and “slow” progressors among CKD patients.
  • Use this insight to validate and/or update existing computational models of CKD.

Primary Duties: 

  • Work with a team of scientists to explore, model, and visualize data in a way that contributes to our understanding of CKD.
  • Document results in a final presentation, report, and/or manuscript.
  • Engage within the CPQP group to learn more about different roles within the organization.

 

 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency and hands-on experience with clinical and/or experiemtnal data analsysis
  • Hands-on experience with statistical, mechanistic, and/or systems pharmacology modeling
  • Ability to communicate technical material to a broad audience
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0+
