The Social Media Manager helps to increase exposure through social media platforms, working closely with stakeholders and alongside the marketing team to ensure maximum brand exposure and awareness. The Social Medial Manager will use marketing strategies to communicate the Torch brand's message in creative ways and is the critical link between the company and our social media presence. Responsible for determining which initiatives work best and capitalizing on this information to continue scaling our business.

Position Requirements

Major Job activities:

  • Building content calendars and scheduling/publishing content
  • Community management (replying to comments and messages, flagging issues to other teams)
  • Acting as a channel owner for all social media accounts (including knowing each channel’s best practices, deciding which content goes out where and when, and adapting content across channels)
  • Creating campaign plans for business and marketing priorities (e.g. product launches, rebrands, awareness campaigns, contests, etc.)
  • Writing creative briefs (to give direction to vendors and/or internal designers, video editors, and copywriters)
  • Supporting influencer marketing efforts (such as identifying and selecting influencers, reposting content, and engaging with influencer posts)
  • Creating weekly/monthly reports (and ad-hoc reports for major marketing campaigns, sponsorships, etc.)
  • Social listening (including monitoring hashtags and branded keywords, detecting brand safety issues, managing social media crises, and identifying real-time marketing opportunities)
  • Overseeing content, providing feedback to creative/content teams (acting as the subject matter expert for all content destined for publishing on social media)
  • Guiding best practices for social media (staying up to date on new social networks and features)
  • Creating and/or curating content (taking photos, writing copy, designing or modifying graphics, editing videos, finding UGC content, and contributing to editorial content)
  • Supports communications projects in the areas of advertising and promotional programs, public relations, trade shows, and talent acquisition, including web-based communications.
  • Works on the planning, implementation, and development of new marketing ideas for partners and clients.
  • Works with key stakeholders to ensure content is informative and appealing.
  • Collaborates with Marketing, Sales, and Product Development teams.



Experience, SKills & Qualifications

  • Highly proficient knowledge of marketing communications, public relations, program and product marketing, trade shows, business development and technical/business issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Highly proficient knowledge of marketing concepts, practices and tools that will support company value creation in the markets we serve.
  • Highly proficient knowledge of social media concepts, practices and tools that will support company value creation and expand general awareness about the company.
  • Highly proficient understanding of the needs, strategies, and motivations of customers.
  • Supports communications projects in the areas of advertising and promotional programs, public relations and trade shows, and talent acquisition, including web-based communications
