Position Description:

The Center for Policing Equity is looking for a skilled Executive Assistant, Communications

with a passion for social justice issues. The Executive Assistant, Communications is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative assistance for the Senior Vice President of Communications & Development, as well as the organization’s communications department. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, ability to problem solve and independently prioritize work, anticipate the needs of the team, and be flexible and driven to support the team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SVP in maintaining the daily schedule, calls, handling confidential company information, and matters requiring executive approval

  • Support the communications team with meeting coordination, staff travel, and other general administrative duties as assigned

  • Manage tracking documents; assist with preparing meeting agendas, reports, and presentations

  • Basic website updates via CMS.

  • Media clip newsletter maintenance and distribution for internal audience of CPE staff.

  • Flexibility to address off-hours business needs


Desired Skills:

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and impeccable eye for detail, with an ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides

  • Motivated self-starter

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Superior attention to detail and good organizational skills

  • Proactive in surfacing problems and finding solutions

  • Passionate about social justice issues


Other Relevant Qualifications (desired, but not required):

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field

• 4+ years experience as an Administrative Assistant or similar role
