With such a variety of activities available, it should not come as a surprise that Kaukauna is also known as 'The Friendly City.'   Position Flag Football Referee / Down Marker Worker   Description POSITION: Flag Football Referee / Down Marker Worker DEPARTMENT: Recreation REPORTS TO: Recreation Director (or His/Her Designee) SUPERVISES: None POSITION SUMMARY The Football Referee / Down Marker Worker is responsible for officiating and/or moving the down marker for flag Football League Games. MAJOR POSITION DUTIES Wear clean clothing in good repair and striped officials pinney or shirt. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to game time. Punch-in on smartphone app. Examine and evaluate the safety of the field and equipment. Set-up field as necessary for the days games Communicate with students, parents, coaches and other staff in a professional manner. Officiate the games according to the league rules. Clean-up the field and store equipment at the completion of each days games. Punch-out on smartphone app. Report incidents and concerns to the Recreation Director in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.   Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES) Knowledge of general football rules as well as league specific rules. Strong oral communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to follow Kaukauna Recreation Department Time & Attendance procedures. ENVIONMENTAL CONDITIONS Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, bend, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration. Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to endure a variety of weather and temperature conditions for prolonged periods of time. Ability to run forwards and backwards up and down the field throughout the course of multiple games lasting 45-60 minutes each.
