The Filler Operator ensures efficient operation of filling equipment, quality output, sanitation, and supports maintenance activities on a consistent basis in an efficient safe manner.
Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor production filler equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity to customer standards and specifications.
Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled products to standards.
Adjust machine as necessary to gain or maintain compliance.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, troubleshooting as necessary and communicating with supervision and maintenance as necessary.
Record production and test data regularly, such as temperature, test results, and cycle time.
Replenish packaging supplies, such as lids.
Ensure cans match the descriptions provided on the filling sheets.
Ensure coder is operational and code printed onto can is correct.
Perform regular product quality checks, ensuring product meets specifications.
Maintain accurate, written records and documentation.
Perform changeovers and line clears; accurately setting up next item's packaging and coding.
Ensure personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols are followed, especially with a focus on adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
Utilizes all food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF) good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
Consistently meet production needs and goals while making efforts to minimize product shrink and downtime.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Must be 21 years of age
1-2 years’ experience running and troubleshooting automated packaging or similar machinery preferred
Experience in a food and beverage manufacturing and/or product packaging preferred
Must have great attention to detail, essential problem-solving methods and initiative.
Must have the ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.

Must have the ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.
Must have the ability to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from supervisors/managers and other members of leadership.
Must have the ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Must be able to read, recognize and speak the English language
Must be able to work overtime when needed
Working Conditions:
Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to lift up to 50 pounds depending on job task
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to operate carts, dollies, and hand trucks of up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to climb and descend stairs safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, and work on a secure mezzanine at a height of up to 25 feet
