Description

Scheduler functions include advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, change management implementation and analysis involving major projects. A thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and Scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and support of project objectives. Provide expertise and best practice implementation in the work place with regard to the planning and scheduling discipline.

 
Position Requirements
    • Five to seven years’ experience in construction and scheduling on large-scale design / procure / construction program.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations -- Interpersonal skills and Leadership skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Suites specifically Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
    • Working knowledge of PMWeb, Primavera (P6), and Welcom Cobra
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
    • Thorough understanding of relational databases
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and contract.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, create and status computer generated sub-projects schedules to project and inter-project levels
  • Analyze resource and cash loading of schedules to provide cash plan projections at all levels of detail and report on logic, impacts, duration updates.
  • Status of baseline schedules in relation to current schedules, advising Resident Engineer of variances and changes.
  • Report findings to applicable Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer
  • Analyze contractor’s baseline and monthly updated schedules for changes to logic, duration and potential impacts to contractual and H-JDP requirements.
  • Support claims evaluation.
  • Verification of contractor schedules for conformance with the contract documents.
  • Maintain an operating awareness of all contract issues and project participants.
  • Confirm that the contractor schedules include activities and logic that:
    • Is sufficiently detailed to provide a complete representation status.
    • Incorporates all physical restraints between activities of the same contract or different contracts.
    • Is updated monthly with current and verified status information from the contractors to effectively control the contract and to create an accurate as-built schedule.
    • Clearly defines the activities and dates that are critical to the successful completion of the contract.
  • Maintain an up-to-date assessment of the contract through the schedule and document status and advise the Resident Engineer of any significant issues.
  • Set up construction schedule information for computerization and enter data in the computer for processing.
  • Assist contractor in developing, revising and finalizing their detail schedule.
  • Review and assess contractors’ detail schedules with for compliance with contract milestones and restraints.
  • Maintain the current construction schedule with approved and documented changes.
  • Preserve the “target construction schedule” as approved with no changes or modifications to activity data.
  • Facilitate corrective action in collaboration with the RE or ARE team.
  • Evaluate schedule impact of change orders on the construction schedule.
  • Develop alternatives to minimize delays to assigned contract(s).
    • Performs field verification of schedule information.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Certification:

Safety Training (minimum OSHA 10 Hour)
