Purpose

This position is responsible for managing the sales relationships of large, national, multi-ship point customers.

Principal Accountibilites

  • Meet the sales targets.
  • Coordinate with pricing, operations, and customer service teams to ensure National Account customers demand and needs are met successfully within the company operating model.
  • Devise strategies to overcome obstacles and strong problem solving skills.
  • Partner with customers to find and develop new opportunities for all service offerings.
  • Expand National Account growth through all services (Truckload, Brokerage, Plus Power, Dedicated, Intermodal, and Mexico).
  • Maintain and grow existing National Account customer accounts and also adding new National Account customers.
  • Conduct QBRs with all National Account customers and develop strong business relationships with all levels of their management team.
  • Travel as necessary to meet company and customer needs, requiring overnight stays.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Prior National Account management.
  • 5 – 10 years proven ability in high level transportation sales, including: Asset based Truckload, and value added sales such as brokerage, dedicated, and intermodal.
  • Experience securing and working with Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Astute negotiation skills and ability to build strong business relationships with all levels, including C-level executives.
  • Strong verbal, written skills and analytical skills.

This position does not supervise others.

 

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
  • Occasionally move up to 20 pounds of office objects
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings adjacent to corporate office requiring travel in outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally attend meetings at off-site locations with varied internal and external conditions
  • Travel domestically and internationally as necessary
