POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION

The Employee Communications & Engagement Specialist supports employee engagement programs and initiatives by utilizing tools and methodologies to develop and execute programs that continuously elevate the employee experience and the full employee life cycle. Supports efforts to increase employee engagement with a focus on employee communications, employee and corporate social responsibility events, recognition, and innovation. Works with senior leaders and internal stakeholders as an active provider of strategic communications. Conducts analyses to review program success and identifies opportunities for improvement. In addition, supports other HR functions (benefits, talent acquisition, talent development, etc.) in designing new programs, improving our intranet, and building templates to drive improved experiences.

This position requires strong interpersonal skills and project management skills necessary to collaborate and manage local resources to execute events, draft and coordinate communications, including from the CEO, and support enterprise-wide programs (e.g. wellness, ramp-up etc.).

Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and execute engagement initiatives in alignment with employee value proposition strategies and established or new engagement programs.
  • Partners with internal resources to develop, implement, and maintain all corporate communications channels.
  • Plans, manages, and executes internal communications utilizing various communications methods including Outlook, SharePoint, digital messaging, social media, video, written, etc. Stays current on the latest delivery options and trends.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to draft, edit, and publish timely company messaging that is consistent with internal strategy and tone.
  • Support diversity and inclusion strategies of the business to include company-wide Employee Resource Group program.
  • Facilitate bi-monthly employee health and wellness challenges.
  • Create and prepare monthly employee newsletter.
  • Create, plan, and implement ongoing employee engagement activities for multiple offices in the US, including remote workers.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and report on employee engagement best practices and external benchmarking. Recommend engagement initiatives.
  • Manage and organize corporate social responsibility events, including communication, community outreach, and participation.
  • Create ongoing energizing initiatives such as digital boards, recognition programs and other creative methods/tools. Prepare presentations, forms, and reports using multiple formats.
  • Participate in overhauling and updating company intranet to increase ease of use and engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong proficiency with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Experience with SharePoint strongly preferred.
  • Passionate for creating engaging work environments and energizing people!
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and vendor partners.
  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop creative and compliant solutions.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills including strong attention to detail.

  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Able to manage stress and/or fast-paced effectively.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in HR, business, journalism, communications or related field required.
  • 3-4 years of HR experience with emphasis on employee engagement or corporate communications.
 
Position Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.
  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.
  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Standard office environment
  • Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer.
  • This role is expected to be remote with an occasional need to be on-site in a shared space.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional local and domestic travel, up to 10%.
  • Ability to work hours outside normal business hours, evenings, and weekends, as necessary for employee or corporate social responsibility events.
  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.

Must satisfactorily pass company-required background check process
