Westside Community Focus is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching independent living skills, as well as, providing housing, advocacy and other services that primarily assist adults who have developmental disabilities. We strive to promote the confidence and capability of our clients, encouraging the acquisition and maintenance of valuable life skills necessary to live successfully and productively in the community.

Westside Community Focus is currently seeking a Full-Time Residential Coordinator for the Supported Living Program.

The Residential Coordinator serves as a team leader who coordinates and provides supports and advocacy services for adults with developmental disabilities and significant medical or mental health issues, who live independently in their own homes. The purpose of these services is to create and implement action plans that foster the health, safety and individual goals of our clients which enable them to continue to live independently.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education/Experience:
Minimum two (2) years working with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities with significant medical or mental health issues.

Minimum one (1) year performing lead duties; including creating action plans and ISP implementation. Familiarity with SSI, Medicare, and Representative Payee services and Benefits Coordination.

OR

Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology from an accredited university.

Certifications and Licenses Required:
Must have a valid driver's license and an operable and safe personal vehicle with liability insurance.

Additional Requirements:
Residential Coordinators work with adults with developmental disabilities who may have unpredictable or aggressive behaviors. Residential Coordinators must be capable of making adaptive responses to any client emergency situation, including all behavioral, mental health or medical crises of the client.

Able to pass a Federal Criminal History Background Check and Drug Screen
Able to pass First Aid and CPR within one month of hire
Complete blood born pathogen training
Age 18 or over
Have HS diploma or GED
Maintain professional boundaries
Ability to follow direction, maintain accurate resources, interact in a positive manner with clients, co-workers, community members and personnel from other agencies.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend medical documentation and complete various state required documents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, members of the community and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:
Ability to track and maintain financial records.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Requirements:
Familiarity with Therap and MS office package including basic Excel and extensive email communication preferred.

Work Environment:
Residential Coordinators work in a typical office environment and with various clients in their home, medical, and community inclusion environments. Residential Coordinators are exposed to home situations with varying degrees of cleanliness. Some clients have pets; there is exposure to cats, dogs and litter boxes in some of the client's homes. Our clients often have difficult, unpredictable personalities, there is a potential to be exposed to verbal and/or physical aggression from the client and/or friends and family of the client.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands of the job vary depending on the client and the needs of the client and vary with each visit to a particular client. In general, Residential Coordinators lift up to 25 pounds 0-10% of the time and five to ten pounds 0-25%. They use hands on a daily basis, reach 0-25%, stand, walk, and/or sit frequently. The requirement to climb stairs may be present in some client homes. Auditory and oral communication is required on a daily basis.
This is a full time position with expected work weeks of 40 hours. Occasional paid overtime may be required. This is a salaried, non-exempt position eligible for bonus and annual increases.
