Our client is seeking to hire Junior and Mid-Level Marine Electrical Engineers to join our team in Washington, DC. Upon award, you will:

  • Assist with and Design electrical and electronic systems for US Navy, Military Sealift Command, USCG, and commercial ships.
  • Work with a team of experienced engineers and people with other areas of expertise to plan, design, and oversee ship modifications.
  • Design for power generation and distribution, electric propulsion and power electronics, centralized machinery monitoring and control, lighting systems, interior communication systems, alarm systems, and navigation systems.
  • Perform analyses and studies, and development of reports, drawings, and specifications to reflect design results.
  • Write Statements of Work to accomplish shipboard changes.
  • Conduct occasional on-site ship check inspections for specifications compliance.
  • Create briefs to explain and summarize technical issues, ship capabilities, change history, and other projects requested by the customer.
  • Hull mechanical and electrical areas are usually divided amongst the team - this specific position offers the opportunity to broaden your experience rather than having an early fixation on a particular specialty.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 2-6 years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience in one of the following marine fields:
    • Electric propulsion systems
    • Machinery control systems
    • Power generation and distribution systems
    • Interior communications systems.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy, USCG, ABS, and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
  • Experienced in MS Office software and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to interact and present technical information verbally and in writing (reports, specifications, drawings, etc.) to internal and external customers.
  • May require up to 50% travel.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

This position is contingent upon and subject to the award of the contract from the government. You will be hired on a contingency basis.

Some TCG customers require individuals providing support to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. COVID-19 vaccination status may affect employment opportunities.
