3D Printing Technician/Intern

Location: Frederick, MD 

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards a degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field for a 10-12 week internship assignment during the summer of 2022. 

Primary Duties:

The intern will help develop 3D printing process within the CST Team. Responsibilities includ executing 3D printing requests, creating the daily schedules for the printers, evaluating customers' requests and collaborate with Engineers, Mechanics, and customers (Manufacturing, QC, QA) to troubleshoot and develop designs to ensure they are compatible with 3D printing.  

Other job duties may include providing input on ways to streamline the printing process, performing printer finishing tasks like the printing process, performing printer finishing tasks like sand blasting or polishing, and collaborating with productions personnel to institute new work processes.  

As a 3D printing technician, you may assist with maintaining the overall production environment, such as cleaning or repairing the 3D printers. You may also work with the product management team on product development, including establishing design processes. In addition, you may be required to work in other production roles as needed due to personnel absences or staffing issues. 

Position Requirements
  • Students attending a technical trade school or pursuing an undergraduate degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • High mechanical aptitude and proficiency in all components of 3D printing technology, including printer repair.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage all aspects of the printing process, including ensuring accuracy of finished products.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0+

Full-Time/Part-Time Seasonal
