About the Organization Established June 15, 1971, Valley Community Services Board is a publicly funded organization where citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta and Highland Counties can receive Behavioral Health, Substance Use and Developmental Services services. Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Supervised by the Forensic Discharge Planning Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for adults experiencing serious mental illness located at MRRJ with a focus on housing service linkage upon release. This position will function as part of a broad, diverse, and integrated multi-disciplinary team, including Courts, Jails, Hospitals, CSB and community partners. The incumbent will provide housing discharge planning services and continued housing case management services, both in the jail and community, to the individuals with SMI discharging from MRRJ.

Position Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of bachelor’s degree in Human Services Field (does not require QMHP). Position requires a thorough knowledge of community systems, ability to work independently, be creative and outcome focused. Valid VA driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
