As the Kana Development Group Resident Civil Engineer, you will create; Develop, manipulate, or otherwise manage all engineering related functions of your design team. This highly visible position can be summarized in a few key words: Accuracy; completeness; reliability. Your design methodology should be driven by a passion for creativity, while displaying sound judgement in design criteria, and practice. This responsibility level will operate with autonomy, freedom of style, and processes, while maintaining a team environment. Your position will be held to a very high standard, championing success at every turn. Seeking someone with 5 to 7 years experience. 

 

This is an in-house position (NOT REMOTE)

 
Position Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as civil engineer of record for multiple projects.
  • Adhere to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments in the production of civil engineering construction documents.
  • Manage civil design teams’ work assignments, schedules, and quality.
  • Provide training and mentorship to civil design team.
  • Produce full site plans, calculations, and reports and recommendations based on findings.
  • Coordinate and contract with sub-consultants for specialty services as required.
  • Provide client interaction support.
  • Problem solve and respond to construction RFI’s and submittals.
  • Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of projects.
  • Coordinate and meet with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Licensure as Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) required
  • Experience with civil design for commercial and/or energy project

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Software: AutoCAD and MS Office required; Civil3D, TR-20, TR-20, TR-55, HEC-1, HydroCAD, Hydraflow, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, Carlson, General LAND Survey experience, and other design software a plus.
  • Demonstrate a practical and functional knowledge of municipal codes.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
