This internship is with Viacom CBS of the Gold Rising Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. Teams and areas, but are not limited to:

  • Ad Sales is a leading innovative advertising organization that delivers the advertising revenue across all U.S. ViacomCBS media brands using cutting-edge research, data, partner marketing, and sales strategy approaches.
  • Business Development & Strategy identifies growth opportunities and reaches out to new businesses, with the goal of driving new and incremental revenue across ViacomCBS networks. These teams handle all prospecting, strategic ideation and planning, as well as execution of all marketing programs for new clients.
  • CBS News is the news and information division of CBS, dedicated to providing the highest quality journalism under standards it pioneered and continues to set in today's digital age.
  • CBS Sports is a year-round leader in television sports, broadcasting a portfolio of events including NFL football, college football, college basketball, and golf.
  • Communications/Public Relations communicates the company's strategic vision both externally and internally; and generates awareness of the channel, driving tune-in to our programming and enhancing the image of our brands through media outreach.
  • Consumer Products extends programming trademarks to create licensing and products including book publishing, home video and audio tapes, apparel, and children's toys.
  • Creative Development handles the creation of digital and linear projects from initial pitch to premiere. This could include scripted, unscripted series, specials, docs, as well as short form stunts.
  • Distribution is responsible for negotiating distribution deals with new and existing cable operators and digital and wireless distributors to bring ViacomCBS television programming to your TV, computer and mobile devices.
  • Finance supports the company’s overall financial goals and delivers best-in-class effective solutions in support of Viacom’s objectives.
  • Human Resources are strategic business partners that support employees through a variety of functions. These teams help align organizational short/long term goals by demonstrating its diverse and talented employee population.
  • Legal Affairs handles legal matters, and business &/or legal affairs, for various practice areas and ViacomCBS business lines, including: content and related areas (such as production, production risk, music strategy, production content review); distribution and content licensing, streaming, ad sales, technology, consumer products, and location-based entertainment; marketing; and mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, employment.
  • Licensing & Standards encompasses negotiating costs and securing rights for music and other media for programming, while overseeing all forms of programming (original, live and filmed content, advertising) are screened and meet the standards of each channel.
  • Marketing communicates the value of each network to viewers across linear, digital, audio, print, live events and more! Interns will play an integral role in building and engaging customers, strategies, and campaigns.
  • Programming handles day-to-day scheduleing of content on our networks; this includes short and long term planning of linear and multi-platform events, stunts and/or marathons. Aside from linear, the programming strategy team plans and schedules content on all platforms where our content can be found: apps, online, Video-On-Demand (VOD), Paramount +, etc.
  • Research analyzes and interprets viewing behavior and content consumption across multiple platforms including linear television, social/digital and streaming services. Research provides key stakeholders with data-driven recommendations and viewing trends to help them make informed decisions.
  • Technology and Streaming encompasses various opportunities in Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Product Management, Project Management and Information Security spanning across our corporate teams and ViacomCBS Streaming (Paramount+, PlutoTV). Additional technical skills (such as Python, SQL, Confluence, HBase, etc.) may be required.

Current undergraduate candidates are invited to apply, as well as post-grad students pursuing an MBA or JD/LLM. Please note: for Technical roles, we may consider candidates who are rising Sophomores, attend an accredited college and/or have completed a technical bootcamp.
