The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery. 

The Digital Media Project Manager is an independent contractor role responsible for providing end-to-end scope and timeline management for online projects from the proposal stage to technical work up, to development, to asset population and delivery, to post-launch assessment. You will thrive in this role if you are high energy, highly organized, and passionate about digital projects, as well as enthusiastic when it comes to collaboration in a fast-paced work environment. You are also a quick learner who seeks new challenges and can effectively step into existing project workflows and map out timelines for new projects.

This is a full-time, temporary role through June 2022.

You Will:

  • Manage scope and timeline for the Museum’s online projects, including website and app content and design.
  • Independently represent internal museum stakeholders in the development of digital projects by external designers, developers, and TBD partners.
  • Work to find and solve any problems with the function of digital projects by implementing testing processes and working to address any issues before launch.
  • Aim to meet all project goals and timelines within the specified budget; adjust practices to reflect time- and cost-saving measures.
  • Generate periodic project status reports to be presented to company stakeholders, detail data, tasks, and processes.
  • Manage overall metrical tracking of museum digital projects post-launch and report to relevant stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities for improvement and suggest new projects.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience managing complex digital projects in a museum or membership-based setting.
  • Hands-on experience with digital project management tools such as ClickUp, Miro, InVision, Airtable, and TBD others.
  • Hands-on experience with digital metrics and tracking tools such a Google Analytics and TBD others.
  • Familiarity with wireframing, technical spec development, and digital roadmap management.
  • Hands on experience with HTML and content management systems.
  • Experience with agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience in communicating with diverse professional and cultural stakeholders.
  • Knowledge about the development and design of online sites and apps.
  • Ability to manage many different jobs and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
