Dock Worker Seasonal

Location Delta Western Dutch Harbor  

This position is responsible for providing fuel via dock to customers.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Dock Duties:

Greet customers. Provides fuel to customers, ensuring safe fueling of the vessels

Completes purchase order requests and delivers to warehouse administrator. Delivers prepared packaged product and oil lubes to customers.

Deploys boom as needed.

Completes meter sheets and invoices and submits to office in a timely manner.

Maintains dock and yard cleanliness which includes strapping drums, cleaning drip pans, burning sorbents and used filters, banding pallets of drums, stacking employ pallets and disposing of garbage.

Checks hoses and equipment daily for damage.

Other duties:

Clean as needed to maintain a professional appearance with trucks and facility.

Submits received credit applications to the office.

Participates in safety meetings and reports all injuries, spills and property damage. Identifies and communicates job hazards.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; and two years working experience or a combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Forklift Certificate company can provide


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear for 10+ hours a day. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands or arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds without assistance and up to 3000 pounds with mechanical assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instruction, correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: An individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of the Job, the employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places; fumes, dirt, dust, or airborne particles and occasionally the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environmental is generally loud.
