Blue Marble Productions, Inc. is a world-class developer, processor, and co-packer of branded and private label alcohol and non-alcohol-based products for the beverage industry.

  • We operate on a Monday - Friday 3-Shift Schedule

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all plant machinery and equipment including depalletizers, fillers, Filtecs, laser coders, conveyors, packers, pumps, valves, controls / PLCs, field devices and process equipment.

The Maintenance Technician must possess multi-craft skills (Mechanical, Electrical & Controls / PLC) and be able to troubleshoot and make repairs to a wide variety of equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires knowledge, competency, professionalism, and safety consciousness to optimize equipment efficiency and longevity while assuring product quality. The Maintenance Technician must be able to function with little or no supervision and follow direction when given. The Maintenance Technician assures adherence to plant hygiene, sanitary standards, SQF and Blue Marble Production standards.

Requirements also include the areas of reliable routine service, timely backlog management and prompt emergency response. The Maintenance Technician provides technical knowledge for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex equipment and process issues. They perform emergency repairs on equipment in a quick, efficient, and safe manner, continuously makes decisions in order of prioritizing tasks to sustain plant operations and production.

  • Monitor and maintain machinery, equipment and processes to improve plant operation. Demonstrated expertise in advanced troubleshooting and resolution of system-wide or area-wide, chronic problems in processes and products.
  • Ensures daily checks and logging of equipment operation, assuring safe and efficient operation as well as maintenance of all machinery, equipment and processes.
  • Ensure optimum efficiency of all plant equipment and processes through preventive/predictive methods.
  • Optimizes preventive maintenance procedures and performs these tasks on assigned systems. Focuses on completion of CMMS generated PM’s and assigned Work Orders. Initiate new PM’s or modify existing PM’s to ensure system optimization.
  • Maintain an “inspection-ready” site with respect to operational and environmental compliance.
  • Identifies and eliminates the root cause of failures and provides long-term, permanent solutions to recurring problems. Is driven to go beyond routine thinking and devises new approaches to problems.
  • Maintain skill levels and certifications necessary in the performance of assigned duties by participating in training and other developmental opportunities.
  • Provides support, leadership, and training to associates by serving as a “Subject Matter Expert”.
  • Takes an active role in daily meetings to assess operations, utilities and/or maintenance needs/concerns.
  • Takes ownership in maintenance and implementation of technical documentation, user information services and in-house technical knowledge base systems to improve the efficiency of the department.
  • Conducts technical training courses with associates for new equipment, software or technology after receiving training classes. Interacts with internal parties and vendors to develop training course content, ensuring that course material reflects current technologies and specifications.
  • Is an expert technical resource. Trains other team members.
  • Represents utilities in cross-functional meetings to provide experience from a technical point of view.
  • Participate in the selection process of new technicians, when applicable.
 
Position Maintenance Technician  
Position Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Tech in a Food and Beverage, Chemical, or Pharmaceutical plant preferred
  • Experience with CMMS
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance tools
  • Proficient with mechanical, electrical and controls / PLC systems
  • Ability to weld sanitary and structural; Welding samples requested
  • Understanding of plant design and utility engineering standards
  • Excellent math skills
  • Understanding of CIP and sanitary standards
  • Understanding of process flow
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook…etc.).
  • Must have great attention to detail, essential problem-solving methods and initiative
  • Must have the ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Must have the ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision
  • Must have the ability to receive, understand and proactively respond to direction from supervisors/managers and other members of leadership
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
  • Must be able to read, recognize and speak the English language
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to lift up to 50 pounds depending on job task
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to operate carts, dollies, and hand trucks of up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, and work on a secure mezzanine or ladder at a height of up to 25 feet
  • Must be able to work in cool conditions in the winter and warm conditions in the summer
