ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

An OAI Scheduling and Travel internship is designed to provide enrolled students insight, and exposure into the global operations within an airline. Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze travel spend using large amounts of data
  • Analyze crew utilization and prepare related reports, graphs, charts, and presentaitons
  • Research travel issues and monitor bookings to track cost efficiency
  • Prepare reports for the Senior Director of Crew Resources & Travel as needed
  • Provide data-driven reccomendations on cost savings and suggest process improvements
  • Prepare and write reports, documents, spreadsheets and correspondence
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a university, college, or technical school
  • Possess broad general aviation education
  • The ability for clear expression in writing
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Organizational ability
  • The capability of working independently (at times under pressure)
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficient verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Be worthy of commanding respect among peers and management officials
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation during employment
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year Background/Criminal check and pre-employment drug screen

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at a university, college, or technical college
  • Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0

 

Preferred:

  • Declared major or minor in business, aviation, or aerospace

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

  • Stand – 5%

  • Sit – 90%
  • Lift – Up to 50 lbs

 

MENTAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires ability to handle multiple activities at once and complete in a timely manner
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Gather and analyze information skillfully with significant detail
  • Ability to complete routine forms, use existing form letters, and/or conduct routine oral communication
