Description

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a USDA program that provides a monthly package of healthy groceries and complementary nutrition education to seniors at risk of hunger. CSFP currently operates in Washington, DC as Grocery Plus and Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, MD as My Groceries To Go. In DC, it is combined with another USDA program, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), which provides vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables. The Capital Area Food Bank is the executor of both programs for DC with oversight by DC Health.   

CSFP collectively serves 6,411 seniors in DC and MD. The CSFP Partnership Coordinator is responsible for managing the caseload for Commodity Supplemental Food Program in all regions.  This will include tracking participation and assisting the CSFP team in reaching 100% caseload each month, ensuring quality and consistency are maintained across the program, and tracking billing, and monitoring sites to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and policies. This position will also play a key role in the My Groceries To Go program by providing administrative support.  

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

CSFP Caseload Management and Participation 60% 

  • Supports and promotes the mission of the Capital Area Food Bank and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program 
  • Manages current participant caseload for Commodity Supplemental Food Program in all regions.   
  • Submits participation reports upon as directed 
  • Creates monthly rosters for all Grocery Plus distributions 
  • Generates sales orders for Grocery Plus and My Groceries To Go distributions 

CSFP Administration and Training 40% 

  • Coordinate distribution and tracking of Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers 
  • Leads CSFP team with annual enrollment and recertification activities for Commodity Supplemental Food Program in all regions.    
  • Monitors sites for compliance, reports finding, and executes appropriate action plans. 
  • Creates program and resource guides in coordination with DC Health and other community partners. 
  • Assists with annual pieces of training for distribution site leaders including Link2Feed Pilot Training Program, Recertification Training, and New Site Leader Training  

Miscellaneous 

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • AA degree in related field or HS diploma with 3-5 years related experience. 
  • 2-3 years of customer service 
  • Experience in a non-profit environment preferred 

Other Skills, Abilities: 

  • Presents excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Highly organized and efficient; with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.  
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Experience using database and software systems. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Exhibits creative approaches to meeting challenges. 
  • Exhibits aptitude in working with the community and faith-based organizations. 
  • High comfort level working with diverse older adult populations. 
  • Familiarity with nutrition and food access issues is a plus. 
  • Spanish fluency preferred. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Physical activities involve sitting for up to 70% of the workday. 
  • Occasionally lifts office supplies or food items up to 40 pounds. 
  • Working environment in the office, warehouse, and community 
  • Regular hours 9:00 am to 5:00 pm three days per week, 24 hours per week
