Operations Summer Intern 

Description

Duration: Expected to begin sometime in May, the target is a M-F, 8-5 work schedule with some flexibility based on business conditions and management approval. Expected to finish internship assignment sometime in late July or early August but willing to be flexible based on student schedule.

 

Pay Range: a flexible scale from ~$20 – $30 hourly

 

Expectation: It’s expected that the project(s) this intern works on will culminate in an end of assignment formal presentation to the senior leadership team.

Operations Summer Intern is desired to lead improvement projects focused on maximizing the use of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software within the Manufacturing, Planning, and Supply Chain departments.  Candidate should be, at minimum, a junior level student in Business or related field of study. Candidate will work with Operations management for guidance on completing the short-term project. Candidate will gain a working knowledge of product planning, purchasing, and manufacturing.

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Working in the Operations Department, assigned to the VP of Operations or their designate for day-to-day direction and project assignment, check in and successful completion
  • Will develop and project plan with deliverable and metrics with the support of the VP of Operations or their designate

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree and a current junior or senior status.
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • A sense of business acumen with a general understanding of fundamental business principals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus
