Salary range: $73,000 - $76,500 annually

What You Will be Doing

The Lead RN ensures implementation and maintenance of current best practices in the nursing and resulting in optimum medical services and integration with care coordination for individuals served within the community including in our supported living and behavioral health services. The Lead RN oversees the functioning of nurses and medical assistants supporting the growth of the region while facilitating care coordination services across other internal services and with outside stakeholders. The Lead RN is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing team to ensure our individuals are receive the best care possible and all governing body regulations are met and to work with other leadership to help create an atmosphere that provides for continuity of quality services and clear direction with respect to the philosophy, policy, procedures, systems and strategic goals set forth by the senior management team.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Engage in and oversee relevant nursing duties, including but not limited to gathering and recording information regarding medical and psychiatric symptoms, changes in condition and other pertinent health information, assist in prior authorization and coordination of services, assist with scheduling of appointments and communicate with relevant team members to coordinate the medical care of individuals served.
  • Ensures delegated nursing and medication administration services are provided to meet program and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures implementation of evidence-based services and interventions.
  • Ensures that everyday activities run seamlessly through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, contract requirements and external state/federal regulations for all nursing services.
  • Ensures the nursing program and employees are prepared for internal and external surveys, audits, and certification/licensing reviews.
  • Facilitates coordination of nursing services across all locations/areas of business to maintain quality and consistency in service delivery.
  • In conjunction with leadership, creates, maintains, and reports on key performance indicators specific to quality assurance and outcomes that are in accordance with company financial, clinical and strategic initiatives as they relate to nursing services.
  • Maintains effective communication and a positive employee relation climate that encourages the sharing of information and the provision of feedback.
  • Ensures adequate infrastructure and allocation of resources to effectively support the day to day operations. Acts as a liaison for consistent communication and follow up with all key stakeholders.
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and retention of nursing staff.
  • Maintains partnerships and effective communication with all stakeholders including families, guardians,physicians, pharmacies, and other medical providers.
  • Facilitates the engagement of nursing staff in clinical research and professional training activities that promote the application of scientific practice and evidence-based interventions that promote high quality services and clinical outcome.
  • Monitors budget and productivity for assigned staff.
  • Supports the growth and development of clinical services and integration of services across the agency.
  • Participates in committees and task forces as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in trade associations (local and national) meetings related to subject matter expertise.
  • All other assigned duties.

Work Environment

This job regularly works in the community providing services outside of the office, in schools, client homes, and other community settings. This position may also work in the office and provide telehealth services. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position exempt position. Working days are generally Monday through Friday with working hours generally falling between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m with flexibility in hours to meet the organization's needs and complete on-call duties. Evening and weekend work required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily local and during the business day, includes traveling to various client homes or Boundless locations to provide services and supervision.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Education/Qualifications/Licensure

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Current RN license in the State of Ohio.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience with one year of management experience. One (1) year of experience in the field of Community Behavioral Health preferred, but not required.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with 5 points or less.

Preferred Education/Qualifications

  • Excellent computer skills — including spreadsheets and word processing tools — and the ability to learn new programs expeditiously.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the provision of services to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health issues, which includes responsibility for the following functions: personnel matters, supervision of employees, program services, and financial management.
  • Experience with Smartcare or other EHR software.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is directly responsible for managing nurses and medical assistants employed within the assigned Boundless program in the State of Ohio.
