Summary of Functions

Oversee Maintenance staff, Housekeeping Staff, and Landscaping Crew in the function of their daily duties as to carry out the responsibilities. Assist other departments with maintenance issues as needed.


Facilities Supervisor reports directly to the Facilities Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain confidentiality of company and operational information.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  3. Delegates duties to maintenance, housekeeping and the landscaping staff to keep shift on task.
  4. Supervises assigned personnel and shift, controlling and ensuring consistent standards performance.
  5. Directs and participates in all functions of the facilities departments to ensure maximum cleanliness and operation of the Elwha River Casino during assigned shift and in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
  6. Ensures staff follows ERC Policies & Procedures.
  7. Informs Facilities Manager of any conformance or operational standards issues with equipment or systems of the facility.
  8. Ensures work is complete and meets or exceeds productivity standards.
  9. Recommends equipment purchases and replacements.
  10. Ensures maintenance needs are met for other department needs.
  11. Attends career development trainings and workshops.
  12. Directs employee or guest issues and problems to the appropriate Director or Manager.
  13. Completes assignments and special projects.
  14. Ensure compliance with Tribal, Local/State, Federal, and NIGC regulations and codes.
  15. Ensures shift is operated in a manner to consistently achieve the standards set forth by management to ensure total guest satisfaction and exceptional product/property cleanliness.
  16. Assists in the proper hiring, firing, and training of all department personnel.
  17. Assists the Facilities Manager in the creation of the annual expense budget.
  18. Reviews and monitors work schedules to ensure staffing guidelines are followed and all business needs are covered.
  19. Actively, openly, and continuously communicates with guests, prospective customers, and employees.
  20. On occasion may need to approve and sign facilities staff timecards.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

  • Use Windows 98, Excel, Word and other computer software.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
  • Other duties as directed. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change.
Position Requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervised by the Facilities Manager and has supervision responsibility over the maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping staff as designated by the Facilities Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the maintenance occupation or other related fields. (Maintenance, Housekeeping, Grounds, or Equivalent)
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Develop and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with staff and the public
  • Knowledge in written and oral skills
  • Must be dependable
  • Must know how to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of cleaning equipment to include: brooms, vacuums, carpet extractors, floor polishers, etc
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of outdoor equipment to include: pressure washers, lawn mowers, and other yard equipment
  • The proper use and applications of various cleaning agents
  • Skills in solving practical problems and dealing with situation where only limited standardization exists
  • Skill in assessing operation, program, staffing and fiscal needs.
  • Work nights, weekends, holidays and casino/tribal special events as required.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Gaming license issued by the Lower Elwha Gaming Commission
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED

  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher positions or moving objects horizontally
  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles, infrequently requires crouching
  • Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discrimination in sound
  • Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described hare are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environment conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Travel Requirements

Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel time is generally less than a week.
