Share Email Opening Title Manufacturing Engineering Technician   Astronics Subsidiary   Location   Description Astronics-PECO is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to provide technical and administrative support to company's manufacturing engineers and operations personnel in our control systems division. This division focuses on thermostats and controls for commercial cooking, agricultural, industrial and HVAC industries. This position's primary role is supporting the manufacturability of components for these product groups. You will act as a technical support liaison for Engineering, production, and suppliers. You will also participate in qualifying suppliers for components. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create, modify and revise manufacturing work instructions and flow documentation Review customer prints and specifications to determine changes to existing products and/or processes to improve quality and reduce cost Enter, review and revise MRP routings and bills of materials (BOMs) for existing and new products Work with purchasing to provide drawings and specifications for part procurement requirements Assist with the design of simple tooling and fixtures for manufacturing; performs routine repair and maintenance on tooling and fixtures Maintain and report data measuring manufacturing performance Attend Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly Provide general support to manufacturing personnel, including troubleshooting assistance, workflow improvement, and root cause evaluation. Observe safety and security procedures DESIRED Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences: Associates degree in a technical discipline and 3-5 years of experience providing technical support in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience Familiarity with AutoCAD and Solid Works, preferred Experience in semi-automated manufacturing environment, Preferred Experience with computer-based ECO systems and BOM maintenance Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred Strong familiarity with automated MRP systems A high degree of mechanical aptitude Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of comfort working with computer software and proficiency with MS Office applications Astronics-PECO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
