MID-LEVEL CLINIC PROVIDER

ARNP/PA-C

OVERVIEW: The ARNP or PA-C provides comprehensive health care to all patients of the Lower Elwha Health Clinic. They will participate in the off hours on-call schedule.

WORK LOCATION: Lower Elwha Health Clinic

SUPERVISED BY: Medical Director

POSITION STATUS: Full Time, 40 Hrs/week

SALARY LEVEL: $55-65/hr

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday Friday 8 AM to 5 PM

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current PA-C or ARNP Licensure in Washington State
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification, or obtain with 6 months of hire
  • Knowledge and competence in family medicine/primary care minor orthopedics and minor surgical procedures
  • Ability to work successfully with other health care professionals, patients and community
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player
  • Knowledge of cultural sensitivity issues and ability to work with entire patient population
  • Ability to handle conflict and crisis in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Professional manner and appearance in all work activities
  • Documentation of, and maintenance of CME requirements
  • Must be able to pass Washington State Patrol background check
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Must have all vaccination UTD, including for COVID-19

OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working within a Native American or Tribal health care system
  • Working knowledge of cultural sensitivity issues involved in tribal health care
  • Familiarity with RPMS, NextGen, EPIC and other Electronic Health Record data systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours and provide cross-coverage for physician if needed

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides comprehensive health care to all patients of the Lower Elwha Clinic
  • Primary responsibility will be patient care with limited administrative duties
  • Triage, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic injuries and illness within scope of training
  • Consultation with staff physician(s) when clinically indicated
  • Orders and interprets lab and x-ray data appropriately within scope of training
  • Initiates appropriate referrals to other health care professionals when appropriate
  • Adheres to Contract Health Services managed care guidelines and priorities
  • Documents all patient encounters immediately via Electronic Health Record
  • All chart notes to be documented in E.H.R., such as addendum notes, recording outside medications, prescription refills, chart reviews and all other pertinent medical information that may be scanned into the record since last visit
  • Attend clinic staff meetings and health department meetings as assigned as well as participate in team drills, codes and promotion and participation of quality improvement activities
  • Perform all clinic activities within CLIA and OSHA standards with appropriate education and monitoring of other staff personnel as appropriate
  • Adhere to all approved policies and procedures of the clinic and the tribal organization
  • Participate in policy development, committees and projects as assigned by the Medical Director
  • Work in coordinated manner with other providers of the clinic and the health department to provide comprehensive quality care to all patients
 
Position Requirements

SUPERVISION

  • The mid-level provider will be under the medical and administrative supervision of the Medical Director/ Clinic staff physician

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires prolonged standing and sitting, stooping and bending
  • Use of basic office equipment such as computers and clinical equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed in a primary care outpatient clinic environment
  • Involves extensive interpersonal contact with staff and patients
  • Possible flex of shift for evening hours required
