Outreach Coordinator

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for maintaining compliance with all Non-Federal Match (NFM) requirements and assisting with volunteer efforts for the agency.


  1. Collaborate with Outreach team to implement a plan to generate Non-Federal Match and maintain compliance with NFM regulations.
  2. Work with Outreach team to coordinate training and implementation of electronic NFM tracking system for all applicable Head Start/Early Head Start staff.
  3. In collaboration with Director of Outreach and Outreach Coordinators, partner with center staff to ensure all NFM documentation is reviewed for errors, calculated and submitted by the monthly due date.
  4. Work with Fiscal to verify monthly reporting data and allowable costs for NFM.
  5. Work with QAS and center staff, following up on NFM monitoring to ensure submission of revisions to fiscal on a monthly basis.
  6. Work with centers who are not meeting their monthly NFM goal to develop effective support plans.
  7. Support the Manager of Volunteer Services in cultivating a rich volunteer program.
  8. Assist with the implementation of college/university internship programs within the Head Start programs, as needed.
  9. Coordinate and assist with annual events and holiday outreach programs, various community partnership projects, volunteer recruitment and activities for Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
  10. Serve as a liaison between community resources and ECS.
  11. Collaborate with local organizations and community members, share the “ECS story” with the public and other stakeholders through a variety of media to increase awareness and support of Head Start/Early Head Start and program needs.
  12. Create and maintain a database to track communication and progress with all community organizations, civic organizations, and potential community partners.
  13. Receive, inventory and distribute donations in a controlled environment at applicable Central office.
  14. Assist with coordinating and communicating with the Policy Council as needed.
  15. All other duties as requested to maintain the success of ECS.

Position Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years related experience


  • Ability to work with other employees and the public in a tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and emotional maturity in crisis and in normal situation
  • Commitment to strengthen families but with ultimate commitment to the well being of the child.
  • Ability to perform with little direct supervision
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and abuse-reporting procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products at an intermediate to advanced level
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to plan and organize work as well as maintain records and prepare reports
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in fast-paced environment


  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage
  • Satisfactory Driving Record (as outlined in Vehicle Driving Policy)
  • Complete 15 hours of in-service / professional development training each fiscal year (July-June)


  • Works in an office setting
  • Local travel to multiple sites is required
  • Minimal night, weekend or out-of-town work possible
