Salud Para La Gente (SALUD) provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry and other services to underserved, low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. SALUD began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront free clinic, and became a FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) in 1992. The Clinical Applications Specialist will work under the supervision of the Clinical Applications Manager as a member of the clinic operations team to meet the technological needs of employees using health information technology (HIT) systems including but not limited to: electronic health records (EHR), electronic dental records, practice management systems, and appointment scheduling and billing systems. The position performs a wide variety of functions from help desk support to application training to identifying operational workflow changes that will have downstream systematic impacts to consulting on business needs and processes related to clinical systems. The Clinical Applications Specialist must be able to work effectively with both end users and technical staff. The ideal candidate will combine excellent technical and communication skills with a sincere desire to help people use technology effectively.
