The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, the Training Manager will be responsible for the design, delivery, and tracking of all training programs for the Museum staff.

You Will:

  • Partner and collaborate with managers at different organizational levels to build partnerships.
  • Apply instructional design models and processes for planning, designing, and creating materials to improve employee performance.
  • Support training activities, including the development, evaluation, and presentation of training materials, including training presentations, tests, job aids, and surveys.
  • Identify training needs by partnering department heads and using needs assessments.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to the new hire management training program that include highly customized training plans, updates to training assets, orientation materials, survey deployment, and monitoring each employee’s progress.
  • Prepare and distribute training aids such as, but not limited to, instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; may need to present these when necessary.
  • Design and develop e-learning materials.
  • Document procedures for the Museum as needed for consistent operation.
  • Partner with department heads to develop and implement training modules.
  • Conduct research to assess compiling reports, possible new procedures, or establish new methods.
  • Schedule, market, and deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions for new supervisors and managers.
  • Leverage the use of the LMS for training deployment and tracking, including reporting.
  • Maintain and update training programs for online training platforms using authorizing tools and troubleshoot user concerns.
  • Monitor and follow up on compliance training to meet state requirements.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business management, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the museum, entertainment or hospitality industries is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Zoom skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience as a training facilitator having a track record of impactful and effective program delivery to business audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced preparation. Superior organization skills are a must.
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, both individually and through cross-functional teams.
  • Effective collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • A self-starter attitude and are always proactive with the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
