Role Summary:

The Regional Planning Manager leads and manages the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the region to maximize supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. He/She contributes and collaborates with the corporate and local teams to establish the regional supply chain strategy of the different businesses in order to optimize the NE Hub planning. Also drives adherence to corporate planning processes together with entertaining a continuous improvement mindset. The mission of the Hub Planning team is to support profitable growth by ensuring the accurate planning of our demand and our operations, optimizing inventory and resource management and the perfect fulfillment of customers’ orders. The Hub Planning Manager will inspire, coach, motivate, and build a “Best in Class” planning process that plays a key role in developing and maintaining relations with internal and external partners. Additionally, the Hub Planning Manager will help ensure the success of the region by providing a set of tools, processes, and operating cadence for a data-driven approach to production planning, demand planning, MRP and allocation. The Hub Planning Team will also drive the adoption and roll out of corporate planning process(es) within the region, working with regional leaders on execution.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drives planning activities for all manufacturing facilities in the Hub. Through S&OP process, works closely with Regional Business leaders to translate business needs into effective regional plans.
  • Is fully responsible for creation, implementation and achievement of operating plan covering 1-4 months. Communicates frequently considering changing market needs and manufacturing or distribution capabilities.
  • Ensures that S&OP process integrates with plans and information from Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance and Feedstock teams to ensure consistency and feasibility of the overall business plan.
  • Leads the regional planners’ team; provides leadership and guidance. Effectively practices Performance Based Management (PBM) by coaching and developing employees and setting /communicating goals and objectives of regional planning team.
  • Provides guidance and support to local plants in planning and scheduling activities.
  • Acts as a key contributor in the review of processes, procedures, and standards. Ensures performance meets or exceeds standards and goals. Identifies and develops ‘best practices’ within group.
  • Ensures inventories are consistent with cost and service criteria defined by regional and global business management.
  • Recommends scenarios in S&OP to meet key performance targets and working capital objectives of the businesses.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standard business practices as they pertain to planning functions, including internal controls.

 

Requirements:

  • B.S Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Logistics Management or similar experience (5 years+ in Logistics and Inventory Management)
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain experience; prior leadership/management experience.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain function processes, systems, and techniques. Solid proficiency in MRP and ERP systems.
  • Full understanding of inventory management, warehousing, packing, and shipping practices as well as working capital requirements.
  • Prior experience in the cannabis industry supporting national & regional planning is highly preferred
  • Strong User capability and experience with of Power BI and of MS Office, specifically with Excel (advanced), Word, Access is essential
  • Must possess strong collaboration skills, with the ability to establish and implement best practices, preferably across multiple manufacturing plants
  • Problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills. Ability to manage performance of staff, as well as motivate and influence cross-functional groups into action.
  • Change management skills – capable to lead the organization through periods of significant change.
  • Planning and organizational skills. Ability to consolidate large volume of information into cohesive, integrated plans.
