Description

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Retail Operations Coordinator will assist in the flow and management of back-of-house operations along with the training and development of our stock associates.

You Will:

  • Train and lead back-of-house operations, including receiving in, ticketing, and storing product.
  • Communicate retail operations information to retail management and delegate back-of-house tasks to sales and stock associates.
  • Maintain a neat and organized stockroom.
  • Assist in tasks required to open and close the store, including opening/closing registers and restocking the floor.
  • Assist the Sales team with floor recovery and providing sales floor coverage in high traffic times.
  • Work with Retail staff and security to minimize shrinkage.
  • Process managerial transactions including returns and exchanges, and applying discounts.
  • Complete all required ongoing training, including security training, audience engagement and collection training, visitor orientation training and product information training.
 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion.
  • Experience with retail stock operations.
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively and clearly.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends. Schedule will include Saturdays and Sundays.
